Man.
Adulting is hard.
Mothering is harder.
In fact, just about the only thing harder than trying to adult and mother at the same time is doing it all while thinking that everyone else is doing it so much better.
Maybe your own mother made it look easy. Maybe her house was always clean, her meals home cooked, her voice gentle and lilting. Or maybe your mother was no help at all, but you’ve decided based on TV, or magazines, or (gag) blogs, that everyone has it so much more together than you do – that you’re failing miserably, ruining your children’s lives, running your home into the ground, and destined to be a cautionary tale for generations to come.
You’re in luck.
I hereby present digital proof that you are NOT ALONE. Below is a text conversation between two highly successful, accomplished women, plus me. It includes never before seen photos of REAL MOTHERS’ HOMES!
It’s reprinted with permission. And love. Big, big love.
Friends, count your wins. Even if, maybe especially if, they don’t include having it all together. And remember:

Thank you. Your timing is perfect.

I love this! You and your friends are hilarious! I especially liked the part that twins haven’t had a bath in 2 weeks. I absolutely HATE doing bathes! My goal is twice a week, but that doesn’t happen a lot. I have a 4, 3, and 1 yr old twins so I feel like it’s not that big of deal yet.. Tonight “should” be a bath night but it’s not looking good haha!
