Hey! Look What I Got For My Birthday!

Soooo… yesterday was my birthday. As promised, it was a GREAT day. The lovely Dieta took me to lunch. The lovely hubby took me to dinner. I made that cake and ate both slices, just like I said I would. 

Here’s the cake.  Try not to be jealous of my mad skills with a cake mix and a can of cherries.

This is not a cooking blog, y’all.

But that’s not all, folks. No, that’s not all.

It turns out that someone has already invented one of the things on my List of Inventions I Need Now.

My lovely in-laws found it for me and it arrived yesterday. Woot! It’s called Tile. Have you heard of this? It’s a little square, about 1 1/2 inches, that you attach to things you frequently lose. Then, when the gremlins come and take that thing away AGAIN, you just use the app to track it down. Brilliant.

Aren’t they cute?

As you can see, my set came with four Tiles. Which might be enough to get me through one day. I got busy attaching them to things. First, my keys.

Then I tried attaching one to a wine glass, but it was early yet, and I couldn’t stand the temptation. I had to PUT.THAT.DOWN.

Ok, I thought. Shoes. We are always losing shoes. But there were only three Tiles left and a GAZILLION shoes.

How about school books? After searching a little, I discovered that my children had miraculously actually taken.them.to.school. Shocking.

I looked back longingly at that wine glass. And then it came to me.
