I don’t know if it is because air is easier to avoid in my house than music and acting, or whether all children do this, but my little girls sing about 50% of what they say.
All of my kids have done this, and it usually slows down by age six. One of the wonderful things about having three kids within 16 months is that they collaborate on impromptu performances.
Here’s a little snippet I recorded over Christmas vacation.
It’s a not-so-standard issue love triangle featuring the opera stylings of Juliette and Celia with some excellent sword slinging a la Alice.
Enjoy!

Do the clowns in your circus do this too? Please, do tell!

Awesome. Mine don’t sing nearly as much – though they both boogie down to any music that’s playing. Sophia is starting to play with the ukulele Shane bought her two years ago, and Ellison periodically belts out “Let it ago” at top volume… Hoping to see more duets in the future 🙂 thanks for sharing your little opera troupe

Sebastian and I sing some words, but meow more. I love the sword fight!

Glad to hear Sebastian is still meowing!
